Verified. Vetted. Valued. Inside Crown’s Employee Verification Process

Crown takes great pride in the extensive employee verification process for each individual we hire to ensure that every person is who they say they are and has appropriate work authorization. We don’t cut corners, and we have an impeccable track record for success.

We have zero tolerance for fraudulent documentation or identity theft. Our preferred method is to conduct a face-to-face interview after prescreening. In cases where the site is a remote location without an on-site Crown team member, we conduct virtual video interviews while maintaining the same high-caliber experience for the candidate and providing assurances to the client of authenticity and quality.

The same HR team member who initially engages with the candidate remains their point of contact throughout the hiring lifecycle. This continuity ensures consistency and familiarity, making it easier to verify identity at each touchpoint.

Interviews are conducted either via video or in person, providing our team—and the client, when applicable—with a clear visual reference of the candidate. During a video interview, candidates are also asked to hold up their ID to the camera to confirm identity. All candidates are asked detailed questions directly related to previous job duties, including technical questions specific to the role. This allows us to assess the authenticity of their experience and skills.

As candidates move through the hiring process, Crown verifies both identity and work eligibility. The HR team member who previously interviewed the candidate also confirms that the individual presenting these documents matches the person interviewed. When we move forward with employment, USCIS I-9 form is completed by collecting the requisite form(s) of identification to validate both identity and work eligibility through E-Verify. Employees are approved with an Authorized to Work certificate that is retained in their personnel file. If the candidate receives a final non-confirmation from E-Verify they are removed from employment consideration and flagged in our HRIS system. Our team undergoes annual I-9 re-training, participates in ongoing compliance discussions, and conducts regular audits of employee documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to federal requirements.

Throughout each phase, our highly skilled HR team members are confidently equipped with the expertise and tact to handle difficult conversations regarding potential fraudulent documents.

In most facilities, we utilize biometric timeclocks to mitigate timeclock fraud and ensure consistent identity verification during assignments. These timeclocks integrate seamlessly with our HRIS, maintaining efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, clients have the ability to approve time sheets directly in our system, ensuring smooth payroll processing.

Our Owner takes this process very seriously, and we maintain a dedicated Compliance Director to ensure every member of the Crown team upholds the highest standards. At every stage, we take deliberate steps to verify identity and work authorization, reinforcing our commitment to compliance. We take great pride in consistently passing all governmental and client audits, and we remain steadfast in upholding these standards—because trust is at the heart of everything we do.
