Keeping Workforce Compliance at the Core of Staffing

One of Crown’s core tenets is to operate ethically within the bounds of all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations, thereby maintaining trust with our clients and employees. We utilize a proactive, multi-layered strategy to ensure our contingent labor services are fully compliant. Our multifaceted approach includes the following elements:

Academic Credentials: Our team members possess advanced degrees in Human Resources, Employment/Business Law coursework, HRCI Certifications, and expertise in OSHA regulations, timekeeping, payroll compliance, and workforce administration.

Continuing Education: We prioritize and invest in continuous learning as part of our annual development. Ongoing education is integral to our culture, and we continually grow through webinars, conferences, professional memberships, and publications.

Key Partnerships: Our staff has full access to experienced employment law attorneys who provide ongoing legal consultation to mitigate risk and ensure full compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the law. We also collaborate with external HR auditors and consultants who independently review our policies and procedures, recommending enhancements where necessary.

Internal Oversight: We conduct quarterly site audits to monitor consistency and compliance across all client locations and internal operations. Immediate action is taken to address any findings, ensuring the entire team is properly trained on any remedial actions identified.

Defined Processes: Crown has deeply invested in developing a robust set of documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which can be provided to clients upon request. We have clearly defined emergency procedures and utilize our HRIS to manage tax compliance and internal auditing operations.

Operational Integration: Our dedicated HR Compliance Director meets with the operations team bi-weekly to keep them updated on changes and ensure ongoing compliance, leveraging external resources and experts as necessary.

Co-Employment Risk Mitigation: We prioritize mitigating risk for our clients by ensuring our candidates know and understand that they are employed by Crown. All Crown employees are required to sign our handbook, which clearly defines their employer and specifies that they are not eligible for our clients’ benefits or policies. Additionally, we share responsibility with our clients for our employees’ participation in any morale events that may occur.
