Behind Every Great Hire, Is A Thorough Screening Process

Crown has a robust, multi-pronged pre-employment screening process designed to provide high-quality, dedicated contract personnel to our clients. We take pride in the relationships we build with both our client and our candidates, which is reflected in the caliber of talent we place. 

As with all things, our clients are at the center of what we do. We are always willing to accommodate additional requests and feedback from our clients. 

Step 1: Résumé Review As detailed above, we gather applicants through a variety of sources, including postings, social media, referrals, job fairs, local resources, and more. Each resume is personally reviewed by one of our talented HR Team Member, who look for applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

Step 2: Employment Eligibility  For all candidates that pass the Resume Review, we perform preliminary due diligence. This additional step provides added reassurance for our clients and adds efficiency to our long-term approach. Preliminary due diligence is conducted to identify any publicly available red flags. 

Step 3: Initial Contact  At this stage, our HR Team Members reach out to candidates via their preferred mode of communication which increases our response rate. Candidates appreciate that we engage via text, email, and voice, ensuring they feel valued every step of the way. Our team is passionate about Crown, and this enthusiasm is evident to our candidates. 

Step 4: Phone Screen  A structured phone interview is conducted to validate experience, assess communication skills, and gauge overall fit. During this phase, we meticulously review key elements of the resume and verify relevant job skills. 

Step 5: In person interview  At this stage, we lead with flexibility—tailoring the experience to each client’s unique preferences. A dedicated Crown HR Team Member will conduct the initial interview with the candidate at a location that offers the most ease and convenience for both the candidate and client. This may include our offices, the client’s facility, virtual video interviews, or third-party community locations. For large-scale hiring efforts, we offer group interviews to streamline the process and maximize impact. 

During these interviews, we ask targeted questions to verify the candidate’s background and request a visual review of a photo ID. We have a database of questions based on the skills needed for each specific role, honed nearly a decade in the industry to differentiate the best candidates and ensure the necessary acumen and experience for success. 

Step 6: Client Specific Requests  Rooted in our philosophy of flexibility, this step is tailored to the client’s needs for specific roles. We offer a suite of services, including robust background checks, comprehensive (or more limited) drug screens, and skills assessments. Should a client request to conduct additional interviews with the candidate directly, we’ll take care of scheduling and candidate communication – making the experience seamless for everyone involved. For specialized positions such as forklift drivers, we also provide operating and written assessments. Depending on the client’s needs, we may also hire an on-site trainer on either a temporary or permanent basis. 

Step 7: E-Verify & Onboarding  As part of our comprehensive onboarding process, candidates are required to be authorized through E-Verify, ensuring the validity of their identity and work eligibility. All Crown policies and addendums are provided through our electronic onboarding system via our HRIS, streamlining the process for candidates, the company, and our clients. Client specific rules and requirements are reviewed and explained.
